Christmas gift ideas when you're elfing broke.
Oh deer.. Christmas is right around the corner and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has not bought a single gift yet. This year, don't get too worked up about presents. Try these simple Christmas gift ideas that are made rather than bought and won't hurt your wallet.
"Maybe Christmas, he thought, didn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more" - The Grinch

For Coworkers/Your child's' classmates:
It feels good to give presents for the holidays but giving a lot of presents could spell trouble for you and your bank account. Gifts for work or school associates are better to be impersonalized, to save time and money. If you go to a dollar store, you can get bags of candy for a cheap price. The cutest way to give candy for Christmas is, candy sleds. Starting with candy canes to be used as the "metal runners" and hot glue a chocolate bar on top of the candy canes to create the sled. There are often Santa-shaped chocolates around the holiday time, but if you can't find them, simply use a Hershey kiss and paint the bottom of the wrapper white, to look like a Santa hat. The sizes, combinations, and amount of candy is completely up to you.

For Friends:
Men:
Finding a good gift for a man can be difficult. Tools are pretty pricey and you want to pick something they will actually enjoy rather than thank you and give to their wife when they get home. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with giving a man beer for any occasion. Gift their favorite brand with some Christmas flare with these reindeer 6 packs. All you need is brown pipe cleaners, googly eyes, and a red pom pom. Use the pipe cleaners to wrap around the cap and twist on smaller pieces to make antlers. Then, hot glue on the eyes and red nose.

Women:
Give your girl friends some much-needed holiday pampering with peppermint scented mini spa kit. This trio includes a sugar scrub to gently exfoliate dead skin cells, a whipped body butter for soft skin, and a foot soak to relieve sore/tired feet. Most of the ingredients can be purchased at the dollar store and a few ingredients are used in all three mixtures. These may be slightly time consuming but your friends will be grateful of the work you did for them to relax. (Tip: use smaller containers to make more from a single batch)
Peppermint Scrub:
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup coconut oil
5-8 drops peppermint essential oil
2 drops red food coloring
small jar
Step 1- Microwave coconut oil, approximately 20 seconds, until melted
Step 2- Combine sugar and coconut oil until throughly mixed

1/2 cup baking soda
1/2 cup sea salt
2 drops red food coloring
5 drops peppermint essential oil
Step 1- Combine Epson salts, sea salt, essential oil and baking soda
Step 2- For a crushed candy cane look, add food coloring to mixture and use a fork to break apart the red clumps until evenly distributed
Step 3- pack into a small jar
